Individuals must possess a global perspective and be capable of performing independent research and development projects by setting their own themes in collaboration with society in and outside of Japan. Individuals must have an understanding of diverse culture and history as a foundation for taking on roles as educational researchers or leaders at domestic and international institutes.

Individuals must be capable of contributing to the creation of new wisdom and value with a high level of creative research and development capacity, and rich knowledge. Individuals must be capable of planning and managing high-level research and development projects utilizing their wide-ranging specialized knowledge and their abilities to carry out research.

Individuals must be capable of sharing information and knowledge in their specialized field, cooperating and working with others, and creating new wisdom and value that support a knowledge-based society.
