Chiba University has been selected for the "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation." In recent years, people often mention concerns about going to a doctoral course in Japan. Some might say, "getting a doctoral degree does not give good prospects for the future." Others would say, "finding a job after completing a doctoral course is difficult." In fact, the number of students is going on to the doctoral course has been decreasing. To solve this situation, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology offered the funding project called "Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation." Chiba University is pleased to report that we successfully acquired this project.
Under this project, outstanding 150 students will be selected from all doctoral students from all majors (20% of all qualified students). Successful candidates will annually receive financial support (2.04 mil yen for living expenses and 0.5-1.5 mil yen for research). This financial support will be given to students so that they can concentrate on their doctoral research. Program students are required to conduct research in at least two research fields. The project will start in October 2021. Chiba University will put focus on nurturing future innovators to lead the future of Japan.
On-campus recruitment website will be ready soon.
