Chiba University launched the Research Institute of Disaster Medicine
Chiba University launched the Research Institute of Disaster Medicine on October 1st. The institute aims to build a disaster-resilient society by promoting research on the treatment of chronic health problems during and after a complex disaster to protect the well-being of our community.
In recent years, Chiba Prefecture has been ravaged by health problems caused by large typhoons, such as the 2019 typhoon Faxai (No.15) and Hagibis (No.19), and COVID19. We therefore believe it is necessary to promote research on Disaster Therapeutics and prepare for the future Tokyo metropolitan epicentral earthquake.
In 2022, the institute's new facility will be built on Inohana Campus. We invite researchers from inside and outside the university to create an attractive research hub for Disaster Therapeutics. The institute will contribute to society by delivering research results through new treatment approaches and techniques, policy recommendations, and other innovations.
