Chiba University Hospital received a Special Award at the "25th Chiba Image Improvement Award".
Chiba University Hospital received a Special Award at the 25th Chiba Image Improvement Award from the Mainichi Shimbun Kigyojin Daigaku. Chiba University Hospital won the award on behalf of the medical staff for its operation as one of the last lines of defense against the COVID-19 by accepting severely ill patients and actively communicating the effectiveness of vaccination.

The Chiba Image Improvement Award was established in 1997. Once a year, the Steering Committee of the Kigyojin Daigaku selects the winners. On January 26, Yutaka Hasegawa, Director of the Chiba Branch of Mainichi Shimbun, bestowed Kotaro Yokote, Hospital Director, with a Certificate of Commendation at the Hospital. Director Yokote says, "it is such an encouraging award, as we can run the hospital only when we have the support from the citizens and companies. We have to stand together as one team against a common enemy, COVID-19."
We are experiencing the third winter since the outbreak of the COVID-19. Chiba University Hospital overcame the explosive spread of infection and the hard-pressed healthcare through cooperation within and outside the hospital. In addition to establishing the nation's first Corona Vaccine Center, we have been making our best efforts to contribute to the community as the "last line of the defense": introducing ECMO Cars, operating corona beds exclusively for pregnant women, and sending our staff to the prefectural mass vaccination sites.
This award is the greatest encouragement for us. Chiba University will continue promoting research and development and nurturing future talents.
