Deepening engagement between the Republic of Panama and Chiba University
On April 18, 2022, H.E. Mr. Carlos Pere, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to Japan, visited us to sign the renewal of the exchange agreement between the University of Panama and Chiba University.
The interaction between the Republic of Panama and Chiba University began in 2013 when the then-Counselor of the Embassy of Panama in Japan visited our Kashiwanoha Campus. Chiba University then concluded an exchange agreement with the University of Panama and Technological University of Panama, the first agreement between a Panamanian and Japanese university, to start the exchange of researchers and students.
Mr. Eduardo Pitti Rivera, a Panamanian student, currently studying at the Graduate School of Horticulture, joined us to share his current research. We had a great time talking about our future collaboration plan between the University of Panama and Chiba University in the field of medicine.
Have you ever heard of "Panama Chiba Coffee"? It is one of our official gift items: 100% Panamanian beans in a package designed by Chiba University. The coffee was first commercialized in 2018 to commemorate the friendship between the Republic of Panama and Chiba University. Why don't you take a sip to let your thoughts fly away to the country beyond the sea? You can get it on campus!
At the signing ceremony on April 18.
