Traffic
There are many danger and regulations different from your home country on roads. Please make sure to follow the bellowing rules for your safety and the safety of others. If you break the regulations, you may be punished or fined.
- Walking on the right side of a road.
- Using crosswalk when crossing a road.
- Cycle on the left side of a road, not the sidewalk in principle.
- Do not cycle while intoxicated.
- Do not ride double.
- Turn on a light at night.
- Do not use an umbrella when cycling.
- Do not use mobile phone and other devices, or listen to music with earphone when cycling.
- Conducting bicycle registration for anti-theft.
- Drive on the left side of a road.
- Carrying a valid driver license at all times.
- Do not drive while intoxicated.
- Turn on a light at night.
- Fasten seatbelt (Not only the driver but all passengers have to fasten their seatbelts in principle.)
- Adding an automobile insurance.
- A permit is required to park on a bicycle on a campus.
- J-PAC students including MEXT Japan Studies Program students and MEXT Intensive Japanese Language course students cannot drive while participating in the program.
- If you are involved in a traffic accident, no matter how small you think it is, please report it to the police, diagnosed by a doctor and inform it to your academic supervisor or faculty office.
